So I just finished this, and... it's fine. Not great, not terrible, just... fine.
Readable, diverting enough for a very short read, but at the end I was left feeling like I hadn't been given a complete story, or any complete characters.
This is a sketch, little more than a glorified outline of a story that COULD have been written, but wasn't.
We get only the most cursory bits of personality in these characters, hardly a glimpse of their lives, and that sparse sprinkling of what a story IS wasn't enough to make me care about the conflict or the resolution.
Basically, this mainly succeeded in whetting my appetite for a good siren story.
This wasn't a good story, but having read it it seems like there ought to be plenty of them out there that did their job better.
Time to go and see if I can find a few.

Siren Song edition by Stephanie Draven Romance eBooks Reviews
Saucy rocker puts the moves on an unsuspecting man on a mission. Chloe Karrashas has the charms that knock most men off their feet but for straight-laced Alexandros "Alex" Shore, he's infallible. Self-appointed defender of the cause, Alex is out to save the world. Can the teachings from another time help him find the one thing that could destroy him or could the trust he holds be the saving grace for what he's longing for?
A tale wrapped in a land of magical places, splendid wonder and calming blue waters, home to rulers of the deep, and kingdoms of ancient times. From the depth of the seas a soldier appears as the deciding factor in another's life. That's his story. Alex is a man looking for a way out of the torment he endures while becoming captivated by a melody so sweet that it melts him into submission.
We have two people -- Chloe and Alex -- always at odds with one another. Chloe, who's looking for a good time and Alex, who will do anything to stop her self-destructive ways. Just another love / hate relationship? No, this goes beyond the everyday dilemma of boy meets girl. The characters here tell a story about commitment to duty and lessons learned when taking a chance on the unknown.
On land and sea, author Stephanie Draven gives you a glimpse of forgotten times when worshipping the gods was a privilege. This is a fanciful tale of magic with a mix of whimsy thrown in. There are some dark moments that bring you back to reality, giving the plot some credence.
An impossible story? Yes, of course -- it's a paranormal, but once you let your mind wander a bit, you'll find yourself smiling at it all. If you're wanting something with a bit of mysticism, then this one's for you. A true page turner that kept my interest until the end. I enjoyed the wonder of the plot and I think you will too. Go out and get this one.

Siren Song is a novella about a rock star named Chloe. She knows that she seems to have some sort of power - when she sings, men are willing to do anything for her. She just doesn't know that she's a siren until a man named Alexandros comes along. He is the only man that doesn't fall under her spell. He gets the wrong impression of Chloe, and tries to get her to leave town.
I really wasn't a fan of either of these characters at first. Chloe just seemed a little stuck on herself. She would prance around on stage acting sexy and knew men couldn't resist her. Alexandros was a controlling jerk at first, acting like he had a right to make Chloe leave town. They both had a lot of back story though that sort of explained their behaviors. The more time they spent together, the more they softened toward each other.
I really came to like these characters, but I personally didn't feel that much of a connection. I can't really explain why - maybe because the story was short so it sort of felt rushed. I liked the plot of the story though, it was different from others I have read. I also liked how the story kept moving - there were no slow parts, or parts with a lot of unnecessary information. The story involved a murder mystery, and there was an interesting twist toward the end. I recommend this to adult paranormal fans that are looking for a quick read.
I really like Stephanie Draven's novels. Although the stories are shorter than typical paperbacks, she does a fantastic job of opening the characters to the reader. I would expect shallow, one-dimensional characters for such a short book, but this book left me begging for a follow-up!
The opening to this novel drew me in as seductively as the siren's song. I loved the premise and the descriptions which brought together a very visually rich story. However, somewhere in the middle the path went horribly wrong which I suspect is more due to the page limitations -- I think this book could have blossomed much better as a full length novel than a novella. There was much more to the story which could be played out but even I admit it would have been difficult to cram everything in with the page limitations. The book was written well and the characters had a lot of potential so I'm hoping they're used in a future more full length novel . . . if only to see how the duo kick the villain's backside.
I like the chemistry between Alex and Chloe. The one thing I did not like is how the ending seemed rushed and you are left to wonder, how they teamed up to defeat Chloe's friend who ends up being the "bad" siren. How was Stacy defeated after it was discovered she was the one luring the people to their deaths. How did she even become a siren, if she wasn't mistreated like Chloe was or why she feels that Chloe needs constant protection? Helping her friend is one thing, but Stacy seems a little to intense at times. Otherwise, a good read for anyone interested in this kind of book.
